Brainstorming

To come up with ideas for our music video we made a quick brainstorm on a piece of A3 paper so that we could develop on our ideas to eventually come up with a final idea for our video. We especially focused on the title of our song 'Green Eyed Monster', as we thought our music video could include some sort of monster. Our first idea was to make a spoof of the popular TV show Catfish which featured a wolf that was looking for a female wolf online but ends up being 'Catfished' when he goes to meet her and she ends up being a human. We then came up with the idea of basing our music video on the popular fairytale 'Little Red Riding Hood'. Since in the fairytale features a werewolf as the villain in the story. So we decided to have the wolf as the main character as a story of him searching for love when he is a human but the girl doesn't know he's a werewolf. He falls in love with a girl as a human and look to have a good relationship with each other, then right at the end of the video he will begin to turn into a werewolf which scares the girl as she runs away from him.

Song Lyrics - 1984 Green Eyed Monster

1984 - Green-Eyed Monster (Lyrics)

oohohh
aah
..
What is his name? Where is he from?
Why is he talking to you for so long?
is he a friend on just an acquaintance?
..
Why is he looking so deep in your eyes?
I'm sure the stories his telling are lies,
and why do have, to laugh so much with him?
..
It's another attack of the green-eyed monster,
while i'm looking for you, wondering where you are.
Does anybody know..
that i'm with you?
While you chat, chat, chat.
To all the boys and that.
Take a deep breath, calm down.
..
So why has he texted and got your number?
Why does he say, and does her another?
Is he your friend, or something suspicious?
Haven't you get any friends who are Ladies?
All the men of all ages.
Why do you have, to be so close to them?
..
It's another attack of the green-eyed monster,
while i'm looking for you, wondering where you are.
Does anybody know..
that i'm with you?
While you chat, chat, chat.
To all the boys and that.

Take a deep breath, calm down.1984 - Green-Eyed Monster (

Using Our Chosen Song

Our chosen song is called 'Green Eyed Monster' by 1984. We gained access to the song through the website 'www.unsigned.com'. The band have uploaded their song onto here so that they can gain more recognition from people that would hopefully get them signed to become more popular. We have contacted the band via emial to try get permission to use the song many times, however we have had no reply from them and it has been many weeks. A pass group of students from our school have used the song a few years ago so they have providing permission for that same song before. So we believe that the band may not be together or making music anymore. So we decided to still use their song as we think that we can make a good original music video for this song. As the song is non copyrighted there song be no issues with using it for our music video when we upload the song unto youtube.

Focus Group On Our Target Audience - Evaluation

To find out feedback from our ideas for our music video we carried out a focus group so that we could discuss ideas with people that fit into our target audience of an age group of roughly 14-25 year olds. This demographic is based on the genre of music which is alternative indie rock, which we believe appeals to the age range of the demographic that we have chosen. To gain feedback, we introduced our ideas to some students and then discussed what they thought about our ideas. After discussing our three initial ideas, it was clear that the students where more in favour of our idea one, which in the idea about the spin on the childhood story Little Red Riding Hood. This idea is the one which we felt would work most with the genre of song that we have chosen to use. So from this feedback we have decided to use the Little Red Riding Hood idea for our music video. This means that we can get started on properly planning and then begin to film for our music video.
